Christopher Yancy Thomas (March 24, 1818 – February 11, 1879) was a politician and lawyer from Virginia.
Born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Thomas attended the common schools as a child and went on to graduate from a private academy in 1838. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1844, commencing practice in Martinsville, Virginia. He served in the Virginia Senate from 1860 to 1864 and was member of the commission to settle the boundary line between Virginia and North Carolina. Thomas was prosecuting attorney for Henry County, Virginia, was a member of the Virginia Constitutional Convention in 1868 and served in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1869. He was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives in 1873 for Virginia's 5th district, serving from 1874 to 1875, being unsuccessful for reelection in 1874. Afterward, Thomas resumed practicing law until his death in Martinsville, Virginia on February 11, 1879. He was interred in the family cemetery in Leatherwood, Virginia.
Lincoln Park is a 1,208-acre (488.86 ha) park along the lakefront of Chicago, Illinois' North Side, facing Lake Michigan. It is Chicago's largest public park. Named after Abraham Lincoln, it stretches for seven miles (11Â km) from Ohio Street (600 N) on the south to near Ardmore Avenue (5800 N) on the north, just north of the Lake Shore Drive terminus at Hollywood Avenue. Several museums and a zoo are located between North Avenue (1600 N) and Diversey Parkway (2800 N) in the neighborhood that takes its name from the park, Lincoln Park. The park further to the north is characterized by parkland, beaches, recreational areas, nature reserves, and harbors. To the south, there is a more narrow strip of beaches east of Lake Shore Drive, almost to downtown. With 20 million visitors a year, Lincoln Park is the second-most-visited park in the United States.
The park's recreational facilities include 15 baseball areas, 6 basketball courts, softball fields, soccer fields, 35 tennis courts, 163 volleyball courts, field houses, a target archery field, a driving range and golf course. The park also includes a number of harbors with boating facilities, as well as public beaches. There are landscaped gardens, public art, bird refuges, a zoo, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Chicago History Museum, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, and a theater on the lake with regular outdoor performances during the summer.
Christopher Thomas Knight (born 7 December 1965), also known as the North Pond Hermit, is a former hermit who lived almost without human contact for 27 years in the woods in Maine. He survived by committing approximately 1,000 burglaries against houses in the area, or approximately 40 per year. Apart from the fear and notoriety his many burglaries created in the local area, Knight's unusual life also attracted widespread international media reports upon his capture.
Knight entered the woods in 1986 without saying goodbye to anyone, aged 20, and was captured during a burglary in 2013. His only human contact in that time was exchanging a trivial greeting to a hiker once.
Knight's parents apparently never reported him missing to the police. In an interview, Knight said, "I had good parents", and, "We're not emotionally bleeding all over each other. We're not touchy-feely. Stoicism is expected." The family's next-door neighbor for 14 years hasn't exchanged more than a few words with Knight's mother.
Christopher is the English version of a Europe-wide name derived from the Greek name ΧÏ?ιστόφοÏ?ος (Christóforos). The constituent parts are ΧÏ?ιστός (Christós), "Christ" or "Anointed", and φÎÏ?ειν (férein), "bear": the "Christ-bearer". It is related to the names Chris meaning "Anointed" and Christian meaning "follower of Christ" or "little Christ" (all from Greek.)
As a given, or first name, Christopher has been in use since the 10th century. In English, Christopher may be abbreviated as "Chris", and sometimes "Kit". Another less common abbreviation "Topher" or "Toph", has come into wider use in the U.S.
It was frequently the most popular male first name in the United Kingdom, having been in the top twenty in England and Wales from the 1940s until 1995, although it has since dropped out of the top 100. The name is most common in England and not so common in Wales, Scotland, or Ireland.

Plot: Henri Miller is a successful restaurateur and family man living the American dream until he collapses from what appears to be a cerebral hemorrhage. Raced to the hospital Henri's wife Margaret learns that he has been seeing a neurologist in an attempt to diagnose unexplained headaches since his childhood. With one test remaining, Dr. Pullman convinces Henri to have the new FVMRI procedure-an MRI-like machine that reads long-term memory in video form. When the test reveals that Henri shot and killed two people on his farm, the first Superior Court trial with evidence introduced by the defendant's own memory is soon underway. Although Henri has no recollection of this memory, upon broadcast in court Henri's father Joseph immediately falls ill having witnessed that exact memory. With time running out and Henri's guilt of second degree murder all but assured, Margaret's desperate attempt to clear her husband soon reveals that Henri's mind will answer to all crimes-those of the past, present and beyond.

WSGI is the standard interface web servers use to speak to Python web applications. Understanding how WSGI works and the lifecycle of a request offers more control over the finer details of how your application responds. A WSGI middleware can sit between any number of Python frameworks and your server to provide a little extra goodness, whether it's logging, special headers, or other application-specific needs. Slides: http://alanctkc.github.io/wsgi-middleware-demo One correction I noticed on upload. The math was off for the timing middleware, so while response time was impressive, it wasn't *quite* so blazingly fast. Without any forethought or preparation, Christopher Knight walked into the Maine woods in 1986 and lived there in complete solitude for the next 27 years, subsisting on what he was able to steal from local cabins. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll tell the story of the North Pond hermit, one man's attempt to divorce himself completely from civilization. We'll also look for coded messages in crosswords and puzzle over an ineffective snake. Intro: Disneyland's Matterhorn contains a basketball goal.
